Joseph Earle Lee, Sr.

Joseph Earle Lee, Sr., 94, of Greenville, died Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Born in Charlotte, NC he was the son of the late Perry Earle and Elsie Knapp Lee.

Mr. Lee was a faithful member of Fourth Presbyterian Church and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 3186 Signal Service Battalion. He graduated from Clemson University in 1948 and retired after many years of service from Bigelow-Sanford Inc.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Spears Elrod Lee and son Joseph Earle Lee, Jr. Surviving are his loving children, sons, Thomas E. Lee (Mary) of Georgetown and James S. Lee (Lisa) of Greenville; daughters, Peggy Lee Wolff (Don) and Mary Ann Lee Geney (David) all of Pawleys Island; daughter-in-law Manning O. Lee of Tallahassee, Fl.; seven grandchildren, Jason Lee, Cameron Ulrich, Meghan Lee, Rachel Lee, David Geney, Anna Geney, Caroline Geney and four great-grandchildren, Caden Lee, Harper Lee, McClaine Ulrich and Grant Ulrich ; several nieces and nephews and his faithful caregiver Laura Garrant.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11am at Greenville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Hoyt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the residence.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fourth Presbyterian Church, 703 E. Washington St. Greenville SC 29601

I was saddened to learn of Joe's death. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Bigelow. He was a true gentleman and I enjoyed being associated with him. Please know that all of the family will be in my thoughts and prayers over the coming days,
