His funeral service will be held Tuesday February 5th, at Beth Israel Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. Josh was born August 21st, 1939 in Hartford, Connecticut to parents Chancie and Samuel. Josh served our country as a member of the United States Army Reserve from 1963 through 1969. A successful man, Josh owned Varat Enterprises, a clothing manufacturing company located in Greenville, South Carolina, for 25 years. He served as President and CEO to Young Generations, Inc. and later in life he owned and operated an auto glass company, Major Auto Glass LLC. Throughout his life, Josh served on many boards including the Christ Church Episcopal School Board, the South Carolina Heart Association Board, the First Union Regional Bank Board, and the Greenville, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Board. In addition, Josh served as president of the Greenville Heart Association, as a Sunday School Teacher, and as a volunteer for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Indian Guides, and Little League. He was actively involved in the Governor’s School for the Arts, the Little Theater, the Greenville Museum, and the Children’s Theater Projects. More importantly than his business success and his community involvement, Josh was the definition of a loving father, always making sacrifices for his wife and daughters. He loved passionately, lived wonderfully, and always put his family first. There is no doubt in any mind that Josh was the most supportive, loyal, loving, inspiring, and proud spouse and father to his wife and children. There are not enough kind words to describe Josh, who was, still is, and always will be so very loved. Josh is survived by his loving wife Lisa, his two daughters Maria and Jordan, brothers Jonathan (Barbara) and Murray (Terry), many nieces and nephews and his two dogs, Chip and Precious.
May Josh’s name and legacy bring joy to the hearts of all he touched.
