Joyce Barton, 95, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025. She is survived by three sons, Forest Barton of Greenville, Douglas Barton of Washington, DC, and Graham Barton (Tracey) of Fletcher, NC; two grand children, Grayson and Catherine Barton of Fletcher, NC; Brothers: Jerry Finley, William Finley, Keith Finley, and Allen Finley; Sisters: Mary Ann Riggs, and Jane Whetstone.
Joyce was a career registered nurse in the Greenville Hospital system (now Prisma). She was the first head nurse of Greenville General Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit. Her caregiving spirit continued after retiring, as she volunteered for years at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic and the Crisis Ministries at Buncombe Street Methodist Church. Joyce was fiercely loyal to family, friends, and Clemson sports, and cherished her home at the foot of Paris Mountain.
A service for Joyce will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609.
