

She died peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016. Judy grew up in St. Petersburg, FL and attended St. Mary’s school in Raleigh, NC. In 1957, she married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Dan Adcock. Judy and Dan moved to Greenville, SC in 1969 and established themselves in this warm and welcoming community. Judy was active as a congregant of Christ Church Episcopal, a member of the Junior League, and a beloved fixture for many years at Judy’s, Croghan’s Jewelers, and several area specialty shops. She was known for her welcoming smile and her genuine regard for those around her. One of Judy’s greatest pleasures was taking the time to chat with anyone who crossed her path. She filled the lives of so many with joy, charm, and beauty.
Judy is survived by her daughters Elizabeth “Betsy” Adcock Baumgardner, and husband, Jim, of Greenville SC and Sarah “Sally” Adcock Chambers of Kuwait; four grandchildren Ben Baumgardner (18) Krae Baumgardner (19) Elizabeth Chambers (27), and husband Mark Fessler and William Chambers (24) and fiancé Katie Rushing; former husband, Kenneth Dan Adcock; dear family friend, Tom Cox; sister Sarah Liggett Smith; brother Frank Rahm Liggett, III, and wife Mimi; and several nieces and nephews.
The Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Markley Chapel Greenville at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Christ Church Episcopal, 10 N. Church Street, Greenville, SC, 29601.
