Judy Bruce Little

May 14, 1941January 12, 2021

Judy Bruce Little, 79, of Greenville, SC, wife of William Weldon Little, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her home.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Horace Ansley and Evelyn Jacks Bruce. She grew up in Greenville, S.C. and graduated from Greenville High School in 1959 where she met Bill, her husband of 58 years. She received her B.A. from Converse College in 1962. Bill and Judy traveled the world in 1964 in route to Australia, where they lived for several years. They then lived in San Francisco and Dallas before returning to Greenville where they raised their son. Judy loved gardening and art and enjoyed painting for many years, displaying her beautiful works in many exhibitions. She also loved to read and was often found in her favorite chair with a book or iPad. She was naturally curious and used her iPad to explore the world via Google earth, to audit on-line classes at various universities, and to read the thousands of books available through the library. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a true lady and she will be deeply missed.

She was formerly a member of the Greenville Woman’s Club, the Hillcrest Garden Club, The American Association of University Women, the National League of American Pen Women, The South Carolina Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Upstate Visual Arts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, William Weldon Little, Jr. and his wife Eileen Foody Little; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Peyton Little. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Bruce Hough.

There will be no services at this time. Please say a prayer of thanksgiving for the gift of Judy’s life and the memories of sharing time with her.
