

Julie Anne Walker, of Greenville, SC, passed from this life on December 19, 2023 after a brief stay at St Francis hospital. She had been in declining health for several months. Julie was born in Atlanta, GA on April 9, 1968, and spent most of her life there. She was a graduate of Lakeside High School and the University of Georgia. For several years, she worked in the paper recycling business with RockPenn in Atlanta. At other times she operated small home care and pet care businesses. Julie practiced her Christian faith as a Presbyterian. She will be remembered by family and friends for her compassion, her warm smile and a personality that could light up a room. She loved spending time with friends and family and laughing about any number of things. All those who knew her well were aware that Julie's heart and soul were devoted to a succession of dogs and cats who graced her home and life. Many of her favorite memories included walking the beaches of St. George Island, FL with these furry companions.
Julie is survived by a brother, Rev. Dr. Bradley Knox Walker and his wife, Lee Pruett Walker, of Moultrie, GA; a sister, Lynn Walker Vaughn, of Greenwood, SC; a nephew, Nathanael Lane Walker, of Brooklyn, NY.; cousins, and numerous friends in Atlanta, GA, Greenwood, SC, and Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Knox Walker, Jr and Mary Bateman Walker; her grandparents; and her beloved brother-in-law, Dr. Ted Vaughn.
A memorial service for Julie will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 30th at Clairmont Presbyterian Church in Decatur, GA. Rev. Megan Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your local humane society or Clairmont Presbyterian Church.
