Kathryn "Kit" Noble Henry Small

Kathryn “Kit” Noble Henry Small, 97, of Cascades Verdae, passed away on September 29, 2021.

Born in Morristown, NJ on October 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles MacIntosh and Kathryn Schubert Noble. She graduated from Ashley Hall in Charleston, SC, went to work with the Royal Air Force Delegation in Washington, DC, and then with the British Air Commission in New York City. She was a member of the Junior League of Greenville, the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Assembly, the Poinsett Club, Historic Flat Rock, and Christ Church Episcopal. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the American Red Cross. She taught the youth choir and sang in the adult choir for a number of years at Christ Church Episcopal and taught the adult choirs at churches in Flat Rock, NC and Adam’s Run, SC.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert C. Henry, her second husband, Robert S. Small, and her son, R. Carter Henry, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Stover (Ladson) of Greenville, SC and Sarah Holder (Arthur) of Benicia, CA, her son, Bob Henry (Louise) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, her grandchildren, Grayson S. Blastos (Nick), Mills Stover (Jamie), Rob Henry (Juliana), Kathryn H. Roberts (Matt), Charles Holder, Allison B. McCumber (Matt), Katie H. Renner (Tim), and Ryn H. Hester (Adam), and 12 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are her step-children, Scottie (Robert) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Tex (Cathy) Small of Isle of Palms, SC, Charles (Tricia) Small of Columbia, SC, Lizzie S. Lipscomb of Meggett, SC, and Johnson (Robbie) Small of Georgetown, SC.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00pm at Christ Church Episcopal, 10 N. Church St., Greenville, SC.

I remember her well from my time as a young person. I particularly remember when she hosted one of the first parties for young people that I had ever attended. I was awkward but she was gracious and kind to everyone.
Always beautiful inside and out. Always looking so young.
