Ken was born in Peoria, Illinois to the late Joseph and Lena Platte. He was the loving husband to the late Anna Virginia Platte.
Ken was a veteran of World War II and a retired professor of history at Bob Jones University.
Surviving are his sons; Roger Platte(Phyllis) of Ponta Verdra FL, Paul Platte (Joy) of Winfield WV, and David Platte of Greenville SC. He is also survived by two daughters; Cheryl Cunningham(Butch) of Brunswick GA, and Althea Eaton(Fred) of Pickens SC.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 20, 2017 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
