Larry Curtis Compton Sr.

Larry Curtis Compton Sr. went home to be with the Lord June 12th, 2022.

Larry was born July 17th, 1942 in Greenville, SC to Homer “Pokey” Compton Sr. and Margie Ruth Compton. Larry had a heart for Jesus and loved everyone he met. He never met a stranger. Larry taught a bible study class at his home for his neighbors and was a lifelong member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. He loved his constant companion, his dog Boo Boo.

He was predeceased by his wife, Brenda McPherson Compton and his oldest sister Margaret Compton Smith.

Larry is survived by his son Larry Curtis Compton Jr, daughter Kelly Catherine Compton Terrell, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, siblings Stanley Vernon Compton, Dr. Rebecca Compton Hendrix and brother-in-law Dr. Charles Mackey Hendrix, Susan Compton Flynn and brother-in-law John H. Flynn Jr. and his brother-in-law Charles Furman Smith.

Visitation will be at Mackey at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC, Monday June 20, 2022 1:00pm. The Celebration of Life will follow in the Mackey at Woodlawn Funeral Home chapel at 2:00pm with a committal service to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
