Larry Michael Pace

Larry Michael Pace, age 61, of Marietta, SC , went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 after a long struggle with declining health.

Larry was a Class of 1978 graduate of Wade Hampton High School. He served our country in the US Navy for 10 years earning his title of Chief Petty Officer while wounded in combat. He worked for Bahan Machinery & Foundry located in Taylors, SC for 9 years as a CNC Mechanic and retired from BMW after 25 years in which he worked in many departments within the company.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed metal detecting and coin collecting. He was a "Trekkie" fan and loved anything with a penguin on it. However, his favorite thing, was being a "Papa".

Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce Price Pace; his daughter Jodie Pace Bowman (Pastor Daniel Bowman) of Simpsonville, SC; step-son Joey Bruton (Amanda Bruton) of Simpsonville, SC. Also surviving Larry are 6 grandchildren; Morgan Bruton, Xander Bruton, Ally Bowman, Mason Lopez, Jaxson Lopez, Caden Bruton and a well thought of young lady, Brailyn MacLean. Also left to cherish Larry's memory are his mother Rita Holcombe Pace of Taylors, SC; sister Teri Pace Shobe (Dan Shobe) of Fountain Inn, SC; brother, Eric Pace (Tammy Pace) of Gaffney, SC brother Kevin Pace (Tresa Pace) of Lyman, SC and many nieces/great nieces and nephews/great nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, James Larry pace; brother, Richard "David" Pace; his grandparents, Russell Pace, Francis P. Bishop (Thad Bishop), Jessie Holcombe and RD Holcombe (Lucy). Also preceding Larry in death are his in laws; Lloyd and Pearl Price and his beloved "fur baby", Mindy.

A visitation for Larry will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Dear precious Joyce and family, my deepest condolences. You, Larry and your entire family are such a hugh blessing to me! Larry was sooOOOooo kind and wonderful to me, I'm gonna miss him so much! I will never forget when I needed a place to land in 2004 his words were " how soon can she get here" that meant the world! I cherish you, family. 50 yrs and counting my BFF Sister Angel! My love to all!

I am so very sorry to hear of Michael passing. He was a very sweet person and I always thought of him to be an honorable man. When his brother, David, and I were married, David and I always loved him dearly and David and he loved spending time together. May he Rest In Peace and I pray for the family at this time.

Sorry for your loss. Old Days in the 70s Remember mike and I. Hot rods Race cars. He worked with me and my Dad at the Radiator. He used to go with me in my hot rods burning up the streets. And Greer Drag strip. The good Days. He with be missed but not forgot. R.I.P. My Friend.
