Larry Eugene Poole

Larry was a graduate of Parker High School, North Greenville College and graduated with honors from Southern Wesleyan University. He was of Christian faith, and had served as a deacon for several years and then as an Elder of the church. He had also been a Sunday School Teacher of young adults.

Larry spent his early working years in management at Union Bleachery and then 41 years at Michelin Tire Company.

He was a big Clemson Football fan, loved spending time at the coast and taking long drives through the mountains. He loved holidays and entertaining family and friends and was always the life of the party.

He loved his God, his family, the church and co-workers with a passion. He was generous and thoughtful and had a very strong work ethic. Larry was dearly loved, and he will be greatly missed by us all.

Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte Poole; sister Sandra Kerns; nephews Josh Kerns and wife Kim, Zach Kerns and wife Lauren; niece Kristen Tice and husband Colin. Also by 3 great nephews and 3 great nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry Eugene Poole and Margie Ward Poole.

Services for Larry will be held on February 25, 2026 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, located at 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC, 29609. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service in the Chapel at Woodlawn at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
