Also a special Aunt Margaret Tolbert Hand of Greenville and faithful cousin Mike Hand (Bonnie) of Spartanburg. Also, many special friends and loved ones that took such good care of Lee.
He was born and raised in Greenville, SC. He was a special soul who lived larger than life. Whether he was a firefighter, EMS worker, Policeman, pilot, professional golfer or race car driver he always had a tall tale. He also enjoyed many years of bowling. Lee never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He was loved by so many. Lee is now sitting with Jesus telling Him many wonderful things he can do in heaven. We are confident when Jesus asks, “Lee, just how did you get to heaven?” Lee will just smile and say, “I flew my 747.”
Lee had a special place in his heart for his niece and nephew he lived with. They had some thoughts to share about their Uncle Lee.
Adie- “I’ve never met anyone else who brought so much happiness and laughter into the world than Lee. He left everyone he met with a smile on their face. Love you Lots Leebo!”
Gray; “Lee could light up your day and no matter what you were going through, no words describe how much you meant to me Lee and nothing will compare to the laughs and smiles you put on everyone’s faces around you. You always knew how to make me smile whether you were telling me about you racing on Sunday with Dale Earnhardt Jr to driving the big fire trucks or hitting 500 foot home runs for your softball team. You truly were the happiest person in the whole world Lee and nothing could ever bring you down. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend and Uncle to grow up with. Fly High Leebo, I love you buddy!”
The family would like to give a special thank you for all the caregivers, nurses and special people who have loved and taken care of Lee over the years.
