

A Greenville native and lifelong resident, Jean was the youngest of eleven children to the late Jack and Nellie Heath Chasteen. She graduated from Parker High School in 1955 and married her late husband, Franklin G. Turner, in 1959.
“Jean Jean,” as she was affectionately known as by her family members for the past 30 years, was a source of tremendous warmth, generosity, and never ending love. She dedicated her life to the Lord and to her family, and always put the needs of others before her own.
Jean is survived by two children: Lindsey Turner Deon (Ken) and Jeffery H. Turner (Kelly), both of Greenville; two grandchildren: William G. Oncken (Lena), and, Caroline Oncken Murray (Christopher), both of Greenville; and, her brother, Thomas E. Chasteen (b. 1931), of Warner Robbins, GA.
A service will be held at Mackey Funerals at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive Greenville, SC 29607, on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 to 12:45 PM. Following the service, Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband at Springwood Cemetery in Greenville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
