Lisa was a beacon of light, bringing laughter, joy, and sunshine to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was 85 years old.
Lisa was born on February 1, 1941, in the charming town of Abertham, Germany, to Adalbert and Elsa Streubelt. Her early years in Germany were marked by a deep sense of family and community, values she carried with her throughout her life.
In 1963, Lisa married the love of her life, Donald Evan Hoffman, in the picturesque town of Oberammergau, Germany. Together, they embarked on a new adventure, moving to the United States to build a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Janeal Lisa Scott and Arlene Lesley Wayte, who were the pride and joy of their lives.
Lisa's professional life was spent as a dedicated bank teller with Bank of America, where she worked diligently for many years. Her warmth and kindness made her a beloved colleague, and the friendships she forged during those years continued long after her retirement.
Though her professional life was fulfilling, it was Lisa's personal qualities that truly defined her. Her home was a sanctuary of love where grandchildren and great-grandchildren felt the warmth of her affection and the soft embrace of her knitted creations.
Lisa was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald, yet she is survived by a loving family who will carry on her legacy of love and joy: her daughters Janeal Lisa Scott and her husband George Frederick (Fred) Scott III, and Arlene Lesley Wayte and her husband Adam Christopher Wayte; her sister, Helga Balducci; her seven grandchildren, Megan Olivia Swart (Reiner Swart), Hannah Katherine Scott, Evelyn Leigh Kemp (Seth Kemp), Elijah Benjamin Scott, Evan Frazier Wayte, Nolan Wilson Wayte, and Stella Charlotte Wayte; and two great-grandchildren, Hosanna Grace Swart and Selah Christine Swart.
A Celebration of Life for Lisa will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2026 from 2-6 pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive Greenville, SC 29609. Family and friends will gather to reminisce and honor the extraordinary life of a woman who truly lived every day with grace, love, and laughter.
