M. Fenn Clarke Jr.

After graduating from Wade Hampton High School he then earned a Bachelor of Business from Francis Marion College in Florence, SC and then he attended Horry-Georgetown Tech for an agronomy degree which enabled him to become a Golf Course Superintendent for which he practiced for over 25 years, mostly in Statesville, NC.

After moving back to Greenville, SC, in 2012, he went to work at Cascades Verdae as a waiter and later bartender. Here at this retirement center, he became a beloved member of the staff. He was always known for his kindness, gentleness, friendliness and reliability which endeared him to the many residents there. He loved being with family and friends and always had a new joke to tell.

Fenn is survived by his parents; Marshall Fenn Clarke Sr. and Virginia Maddox Clarke; brother Keith Maddox Clarke (Wendy); aunts Bonnie Lampe and Patricia Clarke; uncles Harry B. Maddox (Nan) and Jeffrey Maddox; along with several nephews, nieces, cousins, great-nephews and one grand niece.

He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Greenville, SC. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday October 27, 2024 at Aldersgate Church, 7 Shannon Dr, Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm.
