

Magaly departed this life on July 21, 2022.
Magaly immigrated to the United States at the age of six. She was raised and educated in New York.
Magaly spent 35+ years in corporate America working for Michelin North America, Denny’s Corporation, Burger King Corporation, and Bi-Lo Corporation. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Magaly was an actively engaged citizen of South Carolina. Her past and present boards and memberships include the YWCA, Girl Scouts of America, Multi-Cultural Foodservice and Hospitality Alliance, Hispanic Alliance, Carolina Minority Supplier Development Council, South Carolina Consumer Affairs Commissioner, Phillis Wheatley Association, Village Keepers, The Greenville Symphony, the Greenville Community Foundation, Greenville Professional Women’s Forum, Greenville Women Giving, The Girlfriends Inc., and recently appointed to the South Carolina Medical School Board.
To celebrate her life and cherish her wonderful memories, Magaly is survived by her beloved husband Audie Penn: her children Solomon (Nicole) Petersen, Gregory (Tasha) Petersen, Melanie (Matthew) Jacocks, and stepson Corey (Keshia) Smith; her grandchildren Domenico (Phylicia), Cordarius (Hannah), Shane, Tahnee, Nasir, Cameron, Madison, Gabriella, Samya, Alberto, Corey Jr., Carrie, and Alani; her greatgrandchildren Josiah, Ava, and Aiden; and a host of relatives and friend.
A visitation, with the family, will be held on Saturday, August 6 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM, and a repast immediately following the service.
