Marilou Bailey Rish

Marilou Bailey Rish went to be with her Lord, after a long battle with dementia.

Marilou was born in Anderson, SC on September 25, 1929. She was the daughter of Joel and Lillian Bailey. The family later moved to Greenville, SC and Marilou was a 1947 graduate of Greenville Senior High School.

Marilou was a ball room dance teacher for Auther Murray Studios in Greer, SC, she was a Cub Scout den mother , was very active in the Lutheran church, and was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Greenville SC.

Marilou was the bookkeeper and office manager for Sexton's Dental Clinic in Florence, SC, for 25 years, after retiring at age 75.

Marilou was pre-deceased by her loving parents and was the remaining child of their five children, her brothers Harold Bailey, Joel "Luke" Bailey, Frank Bailey, and sister Ann Bailey Lupo. She was also pre-deceased by her son James Cheek Martin, Jr. and grandson Frank Wilson Martin.

She leaves behind her daughter Patricia "Ann" Martin Patterson of Greer, SC, son John Robert Martin (Dawn) of Easley, SC. Granddaughter Amy Patterson Smith (Terry) of Yatesville, GA, Grandson Marcus Martin of Conway, SC, Granddaughter Heather Martin, of Conway, SC, Grandson William "Brooks" Martin (Stanzi) of Galivants Ferry, SC, and Granddaughter Katherine Martin Calvin (Jeremy) of Greenville, SC. Great Grandchildren Taylor Martin, Benjamin Smith, Bryson Martin, Grayson Shelley, James "JB" Martin, Everett Calvin, and Jude Martin. First cousin Judy Abercrombie Connell (Terry).

A Graveside Service for Marilou will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00AM in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29609.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in Marilou's memory.
