Marion Lamb Mitchell

Marion Hamilton Lamb Mitchell, 86, of 100 Gilstrap Drive, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011, at her home. She was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Iris Hamilton Lamb. Mrs. Mitchell was born June 6, 1924 in Edgefield County, SC. She was a homemaker who loved to cook for family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, John C. Mitchell, Sr.; a sister, Lucille L. Taylor; a son, John C. Mitchell, Jr. (Betty); a daughter Barbara M. Beach; four grandchildren, John C. Mitchell, III (Sandy), Kyle Mitchell (Sheila), Michael Beach (Leslie) and Stephanie Beach; six great grandchildren, J.C. Mitchell, IV, Kadie Huey, Emily Mitchell, Zane Mitchell, Isabella Mitchell and L.K. "Mitch" Mitchell, Jr. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, James Bonham Lamb and Clyde Lamb and her sister Kathrine L. Bryan and her son-in-law James 'Jim' Beach. Mrs. Mitchell was a former member of Triune United Methodist Church for 60 years and is now a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for her home care nurse, Tara Taylor and the caring staff of Open Arms Hospice.
