Marion was a longtime member of the Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) and a devoted member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. She found great joy in knitting and was an active participant in several knitting groups. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, where she formed many cherished friendships over the years.
She is survived by her niece, Samantha Pierce of Taylors, SC; her nephew, Leigh Pierce (Leah) of Peachtree City, GA; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by her father, William Owen; her mother, Pauline Richards; her husband, Edward Sprague; her brother, Allen Owen; and her sister, Valerie Pierce.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 910 Hudson Road, Greenville, SC 29615. All who attend are encouraged to bring and share their memories of Marion/Maz.
