Marleigh graduated from Easley High School and was studying nursing at Tri-County Technical College—a path that fit her well, because caring for people was never something she had to learn. She was driven and compassionate beyond measure, a go-getter who always set goals and went after them.
She is survived by her parents, Andrew and Maria Smith Bocker; her sister, Madison Smith; her brothers, Marshall and Mason Smith; her bonus brother, Andrew Bocker Jr. (Anna); and her beautiful niece, Lucy Bocker. She also leaves behind her Grandma Sanders, whom she adored and who loved her deeply, and her Grandma Bocker, along with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a very close circle of friends who were family in every way that counts.
She was preceded in death by her bonus brother, Bradley Bocker, who went to be with the Lord earlier this year.
Her siblings were her whole world, and she would have done anything for them, always finding joy in loving and caring for them. She had a tender heart for the less fortunate and the homeless, and she went out of her way for people—often for those who could never repay her. She loved to travel, adored animals, especially her own, and lived through music.
She was unconditionally herself—patient, authentic, and independent to her core. She loved to laugh, especially when she could make others laugh with her, and her laughter was contagious. She loved everyone selflessly and put her friends and family above herself. As one friend said, she was “the first angel I’d ever met in person.” Another said, “She is the last friend you’ll ever need.”
Above all, Marleigh loved the Lord. Her faith shaped everything about her—the patience, the compassion, the way she saw worth in every person she met. She lived out her love for Jesus in how she treated people, and she carried that love with her right up to the moment she saw Him face to face.
