

She leaves her son, Eugene H. Turner, JR. (Karen Turner), Daughters Vickie Galvin, Kim Barber (Stuart Barber), Kelly Murphy, Lisa Cope (Gene Cope) and Linda Silvers (Trace Silvers), 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Turner was born and raised in Greenville, SC.
She was the daughter of George W. Cowsert and Leila M. Jenkinson. She graduated from Greenville High School where she was a majorette in the Greenville High School marching band. Several years later she married her High School sweetheart, Eugene Howard Turner. They attended St. Paul United Methodist Church for many years and later became members at Lee Rd. United Methodist Church. In 1967 she was elected President of the Twins Mother Club of Greenville. Mrs. Turner worked for many years as a Medical Receptionist and then twenty years as a Preschool Aide at Edwards Rd. Baptist Church.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Howard Turner, Sr., daughter Deborah (Debbie) Steele; A brother Bob Cowsert; a sister Ruth Head and her parents George and Leila Cowsert.
Mrs. Turner's greatest joy was her love for Jesus Christ, her family and many friends. Mrs. Turner loved family beach trips and Sunday dinners with her family. We would like to say a special thank you to Shannon Lindsey, mother's caregiver, and hospice for the love and support they showed our family and mother.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Mackey Mortuary with visitation at 11:00 am and funeral service at 12:00 noon.
