Mary Lynette Stanley

Mary Lynette Stanley, 67, passed on April 12, 2022. She was born in Greenville, SC on October 22, 1954 to the late William E. Doan and Carolyn V. Doan. Lynette was predeceased by her first husband, John Kelson Mills, Sr.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years William “Wayne” Stanley, her daughter Amanda “Amy” Mills Carver (Josh), her son Timothy Wayne Mills, three grandchildren Kelson M. Carver, Jackson N. Carver, and John T. Mills, brothers Tony Doan (Trish) and Brad Doan, sister Tammy Holtzclaw, and 6 nieces and nephews.

Lynette was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She worked for 22 years as Assistant Director of La Petite Academy in Taylors, SC where she was known and loved by many as Ms. “Nette”. In addition, she worked for 17 years as a School Office Clerk with Greenville County Schools where she retired in 2019.

Lynette enjoyed spending her time taking drives with her husband, Wayne just about anywhere, but especially through the Blue Ridge Mountains. She also enjoyed their trips to Myrtle Beach. As loving Nana to Kelson, Jackson and John she enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them, especially at Lake Robinson feeding the ducks.

Lynette will be desperately missed by many loved ones and friends. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 6:30pm – 8:30pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607. A graveside service will occur Friday, April 22, 2022 at 1:00pm at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd. Simpsonville, SC 29681.
