When I think of Matt, I always picture him with a big smile. He helped us design two different homes. He was such a nice person and so easy to work with. He loved coming to our Brunswick Stew in Cashiers and each time he came, he always said, “Make sure to keep me on the list for this event!” Matt, you will forever be on that list! We will miss that smile!

Matt was a ray of sunshine in a world full of clouds. His beautiful smile would instantly light up a room and brighten my spirit. He never met a stranger and always went out of his way to help anyone that needed it. He had a kind heart and gentle soul. We shared many good times, trips and adventures. He will always have a place in my heart.

Matt and I were boyfriend & girlfriend since August 16, 2015. We had our ups and downs. Even our break ups. Matt could always depend on me. He made me laugh like no other has and cry too. We shared an adorable dog named Daphney. I loved Matt with all my heart. I was always so proud of every accomplishment he did with his Crew 13 Architectural company. I believed in him. My biggest accomplishment with Matt was I got him to go to Church with my family a few times. That was special and I knew he enjoyed it because he would be smiling really big.
Matt is special to me and will always be special to me. I will always love him. I am very fortunate that I was able to spend so much time with him these last few months being with him and caring for Matt. Last words he said to me." Love you baby". -Angela

Just heard the news of Matt's passing. My heart hurts. I hadn't seen Matt in years but often wondered how he was doing. We were brothers (step) and I have fond memories from my childhood (he was 8 years older than me) growing up as his little brother. I looked up to him and wanted to be just like him. He was so gifted in really anything he did. My memories with Matt at the house on Tipperary Ln and at Clemson visiting him on the weekends will never go away. My thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and parents. May God rest his soul.
