

He was a graduate of Greenville High and Furman University. In his senior year at Furman, Mac served as a Naval Officer during World War II. He participated in the invasion of the Philippine Islands at Lingayen Gulf and in the invasion of Okinawa. He returned to Furman and graduated in the Class of 1947. Upon discharge, he remained in the Naval Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Commander.
Mac was a heavy duty truck dealer and was president of Christopher Trucks. He served as president of the Furman Paladin Club, president of the Furman Alumni Association, and served as trustee of Furman. He also served on the North Greenville University Board of Advisors. He was a member of the Downtown Greenville Rotary Club and the Quaternion Club of Furman University.
Mac was a member of First Baptist Greenville, where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Seminar Corder Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Barbara C. Christopher; sons, McAdams Christopher, III; and Scott McAdams Christopher and his wife Pam; and grandchildren, Stuart McAdams Christopher, Steven McAdams Christopher, McAdams Christopher, IV and Chloe S. Christopher.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Greenville. A reception celebrating Mac’s life will follow in the Parlor.
