Michael Lee Peddycord of Greenville, South Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Born on March 11, 1960, in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Dorothy and Edward Peddycord.

Michael was a 1979 graduate of Parker High School and went on to receive an associate’s degree in automotive service education from Greenville Technical College. He worked in auto repair from 1984-1990, after which he worked as a UPS mechanic until 1995. Finally, he served as the building maintenance supervisor at WYFF 4 until his retirement in 2017.

Michael was a jack of all trades who could fix anything. He found great fulfillment in lending a helping hand. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to assist others.

Michael was also a lover of animals and particularly enjoyed feeding birds. Above all, Michael cherished his family and friends. He was a friend to many and will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Peddycord Crisp.

Michael is survived by his wife Debra Pittman, his brother Milton Peddycord (Sara), of Winston Salem, North Carolina, as well as nieces and nephews, Megan Peddycord Bratton, Shawn Sims, and Selena Black.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
