Mike Helms of Greenville, SC passed away at his home Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born in Michigan, Mike resided in Florence, SC for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl Helms, and his loving children: Colette Helms Spencer, Lindsey Helms Johnson, Tyler Helms, Charlotte Kilgore Adams, Rob Kilgore, and Jon Nubson. Mike was a veteran who served in the US Air Force. As an avid sports fan, he spent many years coaching various sports through the Florence Recreation Department, although personally, golf was his favorite to play. The family will have a celebration of life at his daughter, Lindsey’s house in Simpsonville, SC on Sunday, January 15 from 1pm – 3pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following: Regency Hospice of Greenville, the American Lung Association, or an animal shelter of your choice.
