Born in Boiling Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Keith Marquis and Bessie Mae Detwiler Marquis.
She retired from the Greenville General Hospital and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by a daughter and son-in law: Lynn and Geoffrey Gill of Los Alamitos, CA; two sons and daughters-in-law: John Fletcher and Mary Ann Brooks of Roswell, GA and Alan Marquis and Sherri Stokes Brooks of Greer, SC; seven grandchildren: Matthew Monroe Gill, John Edward Brooks, Kelly Marie Brooks, Meagan Lane Hardin, McKenzie Kari Hardin, Madison Walker Hardin, and Molly Grace Brooks.
She was predeceased by her husband: John Fletcher Brooks.
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
