

Mrs. Monique Sylla Roberts, affectionately called “Tata,” was born in Liberia, West Africa on April 10, 1989 unto the union of Mr. Seydou A. Sylla and Ms. M’Barke Fofana. She was a loving wife, mother, niece, daughter, granddaughter and friend to all that knew her.
She started her educational journey at St. Kathleen McGuire Memorial Catholic School and later transitioned to B.W Harris Episcopal High School in Monrovia, Liberia. She was currently employed with Promedica of Greenville where she served as a cook/dietary aide for 6 years. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and most of all spending time with her family. Everything she did was done with passion, purpose and love.
She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Samuel Roberts of Greenville, SC; two children, Samuel “Desire” Samu Roberts Jr. and Simeon Seydou Roberts; her father, Seydou A. Sylla; her mother, M’Barke Fofana; her aunt, Astan Eyah Kolleh (Sam) and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and dear friends.
A visitation for Tata will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607 with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM. A committal service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
