Morgan is survived by his wife Annie, father David, mother Kaye, stepmother Leanne, stepsister Hannah Sagedy-Ridenour, her husband Cameron and extended families. He is predeceased by his stepsister Amber Sagedy. He also leaves behind many friends in Greenville, Shreveport, across the nation and the world. His dogs, Jazz and Jupi, as well as his two sister black cats will also miss him.
Morgan attended Greenville's Eastside High School and Asheville School, graduating from James F. Byrnes High School. As a sophomore at Eastside, he was selected as one of their two Ambassadors to the HOBY SC State Leadership Seminar. From there, he was super-selected as one of two to represent SC at the HOBY World Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. As a junior at Asheville School, he set a school record and placed well in events up to the state level in his first ever coached swimming efforts. He served his country proudly for 6 years in the U.S. Air Force, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. In the past two years, he gave back to his community by patrolling nights with the Shreveport Police Department in their Auxiliary Police Officers program. At the time of his recent discharge from military service, Morgan aspired to pursue a career in law enforcement.
He departed this world far too soon, leaving it a better place for our having known him. Morgan lived life in the moment and to the fullest. If it was a board with or without wheels, on concrete, snow or especially the water, he would ride it. If it was high he would climb it. If it was fast he would ride it or drive it.
His ready smile would light up a room. He will be dearly missed.
His family invites all to a celebration of life for Morgan at Mackey Funerals & Cremations at 311 Century Drive in Greenville on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 4:00 to 6:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Morgan's name to the Greenville Humane Society at their website.
