

Nancy Tackett Deadwyler, age 86, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, March 06, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born in Greenville, SC on May 3, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James and Grace Wilson.
Nancy was a devoted Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church located in Greenville and was actively involved with the adult ministries prior to her health decline.
Nancy met the love of her life, Bob, while he was stationed at the Donaldson Air Force base in Greenville. She was a devoted wife and mother and after his untimely death at the age of 37, she worked hard as a single parent to provide for her 3 sons.
Nancy is survived by her three sons: Ronnie Tackett (Donna) of Taylors, SC; Scott Tackett of Taylors, SC and David Tackett of Fair Play, SC.
Nancy leaves behind four grandchildren: Ryan Tackett, Meagan (Joshua) Hitchcock, Taylor Tackett and Hailey Tackett and her great grandchild, Harper Hitchcock. She is also survived by two nephews, James (Carolyn) Stillwell and Thomas Stillwell.
She was also preceded in death by her second husband Ernest (Hammer) Deadwyler and her sister Shirley Stillwell.
Nancy will be remembered for her love for family, wide-ranging interests that included knitting, crocheting and reading along with the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, devotion, and joy for life will continue through those she loved.
Services for Nancy will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 on March 13, 2026.
Visitation begins at 12:00 pm followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
