Nancy Margaret Shead Russell

Nancy Margaret Shead Russell, 79, went home to be with her Jesus on December 6, 2013, after a courageous four-year fight with leukemia. Born in Oconee County, SC, she is the daughter of the late George Shead and the late Alma Smith Shead. She was an excellent seamstress, an avid gardener, a fantastic interior decorator, and a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church which she loved. Most importantly, she was the faithful and submissive wife of her loving husband of fifty years, William Rudolph Russell. She loved, cared for, and cherished her five children: Dennis, David (Lisa), Donnie (Sherri), Laura (Eddie), and Nancy (Todd). She was the perfect picture of a doting grandmother to her eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother and three sisters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:45pm and Memorial Services at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 10 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville. Burial will take place at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Road, Piedmont.
