Nancy Ellen Wright

Nancy Ellen Sims Wright, 80, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Born in 1934, she was a daughter of the late J.L. and Annie Bell Tumblin Sims.

Nancy grew up in the Dunklin Bridge Community.

A faithful member of Earle Street Baptist Church for 55 years, Nancy taught Sunday School, Training Union, Girls Auxiliary , worked in the nursery and sang in the choir. She was a retired LPN and loved spending time with her family. She volunteered with the hospital and enjoyed working with children.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Wright and their 3 sons, Steven (Florence), Bill (Carol), and Keith; her grandchildren, Steven, Douglas, Eric (Pauline), Brenton (Ariane) and Elsbeth; her great-grandchildren, Nora, Todd, Sara and two on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Canales; her brothers, James Walker Sims, Pelham Deforest (Brenda) Sims, Horace Freeman Sims; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Earle Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Clyborne officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

The family wishes to thank the devoted staff at Heartland West Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for their loving care given to Nancy.
