

Nell was known as a loyal wife and partner to Jesse Seaborn Hall, former executive of Sun Trust Bank (now Truist) and CEO of Fernbank National History Museum in Atlanta after his retirement. She did a short stint on the Board of Fernbank, taking her husband’s place after his death in 1999. She was a homemaker and mother and intimately involved with Peachtree Presbyterian Church for most of her life, holding various offices and responsibilities, until she moved to Greenville, SC in 2015 to be close to family.
Nell was known for her generosity and graciousness and never hesitated to support her church or charities that were dear to her. She was also known for her enduring and loyal friendships since before Girl’s High in Atlanta, GA and for her faithfulness to family and friends. She will be sorely missed by her friends, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews. Grandchildren include Christopher Vaughn (Sarah) of Austin, TX, and Matthew Vaughn (Shelly) of Simpsonville, SC. Great grandchildren include Noah Vaughn and Annibelle Vaughn of Simpsonville, SC and Penelope and Josephine Vaughn of Austin, TX.
A private graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA , followed by a service in the Wilson Chapel at Peachtree Presbyterian Church ( 3434 Roswell Rd. Atlanta, GA 30305) at 2:00 p.m on November 12, 2025.
