Ona Kirkland Kirkland Hunt

Ona "Bill" Kirkland Williams Hunt, 73, of Greenville, SC peacefully passed away in her home on Saturday, August 01, 2015. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend she was also known by friends and family as "Bill" or "Nanny". Born March 10th, 1942 in Barnwell, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank Kirkland & Ruth Ona Diamond Kirkland. She was a long time employee and on site Emergency Medical Technician at Fiber Industries. She was married 36 wonderful years to her surviving husband, Daniel Edwin Hunt Jr. She is predeceased by her son, Benjamin "Benny" Lee Williams Jr. and survived by her daughters, Mary Ruth Williams Welborn Van Name (Husband, Richard Bradley Van Name) and Emily Marie Williams Tucker Gross. Also survived by four grandchildren, Katie Gross, Barry Steven Welborn II, Megan Ona Welborn, Amanda Lee Welborn McCormack (Husband, Robert Leslie McCormack) and their three children who adored their Nanny, Robert "Ra" Leslie McCormack III, Colby Lee McCormack and Mackenzie Leann McCormack. Survived by three step grandchildren, Richard Bradley Van Name Jr. (Son, Jack) Matt Van Name, and Megan Van Name Wood (Husband, Eric Wood and children, Landon and Liam). Dedicated loving friends and family of Ona include Sandra Raines, Debra Fuller, Dawn Hudson, Morgan Ward, Ms. Florida Boyd, Susan and Barry Welborn, and Sherry and Joe McCormack. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with visitation being from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the funeral home.The family would like flowers in lieu of donations sent to Woodlawn because she was unable to have real flowers during her illness. www.woodlawn-fh.com
