Patricia Ann Dietz

Patricia Ann Dietz, age 84, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was born March 30, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert Frank Yenke and Gladys Marie Dunn Yenke.

Pat graduated Anderson High School in Cincinnati, OH in 1959. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent student. She loved to spend time at the church and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at 16 years old. Pat married the love of her life, Don Dietz, on November 11, 1961. They were joyfully married for 57 years and were seldom apart. Their delight was to spend their lives together. They gave birth to Kathleen Michelle in 1963 and Douglas Alan in 1967. Don and Pat moved from Ohio to New Jersey in 1970, and Pat served as Personnel Manager at Interboro Savings and Loan in Cherry Hill, NJ for over 16 years. While Don served faithfully in the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department, Pat served on the Women’s Auxiliary. She also volunteered at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center Burn Unit serving burn victims. Pat organized volleyball marathons as a fundraiser for the Burn Unit for many years.

After living in New Jersey for 28 years, Don and Pat chose to relocate to Greenville, SC, leaving behind many wonderful friends in Cherry Hill. They continued their love of boating, playing games, and spending time with their growing family. Pat was an avid Bridge and Scrabble player, and also enjoyed playing “Words with Friends” each and every day. Don and Pat were faithful members of Earle Street Baptist Church. In January of 2020 Pat moved to Spring Park Assisted Living where everyone loved and cared for her.

Pat’s family was everything to her. Pat loved deeply and sincerely, and because of that, everyone who knew her loved her in return. Pat was kind and she cared about everyone. Her love for her family and friends shone brighter than words can express, inspiring everyone around her to cherish every moment with her. Her legacy of love, courage, and devotion will forever be etched in our hearts.

Patricia is survived by daughter, Kathleen (Robert) Batson and son, Douglas Dietz (Kellie); grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Joshua) Shaw and Matthew Beringer (Sunny), Ryan Dietz (Alexa) and Eric Dietz; great- grandchildren, McKenzie, Mason, Benjamin, and Brayden Shaw, and Alivia Beringer; sister, Barbara Steele; nieces and nephews, Sheryl (Dale) Ratchenski, Jim Dietz, Gary Dietz (Jackie), Keith Dietz (Jill), Jeff Steele (Jenny), Jenny Steele, Deborah (David) Huey, and Bobby Yenke.

Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Dietz, great- grandchild, Blakely Beringer, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Sue Yenke, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norbert and Jan Dietz,brother-in-law, Gene Steele, and niece, Lee Ann Dietz.

A visitation for Patricia will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.

A funeral service for Patricia will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Earle Street Baptist Church, 225 W. Earle Street, Greenville, SC 29609. Following the service the burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Serving as Pallbearers are Matthew Beringer, Joshua Shaw, Ryan Dietz, Eric Dietz, Jim Dietz, Gary Dietz, and junior pallbearer "Strong Man", Mason Shaw.
