Patricia Huguley Langley

Patricia Huguley Langley passed away on March 22, 2022 at 5:15 after a tough 12 day fight with Covid. In her final hours she was surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC.

Daughter of the late William Gaines Huguley, Sr. and Jane White Huguley of Greenville, SC. Tricia is survived by her sons Russell B. Langley and wife Robin C. Langley of Charlotte, NC; Christopher Ferrell Langley and wife Elizabeth Coggins Langley of Spartanburg, SC; Brian Hays Langley and wife Kerry Lee Langley of Buford, GA. Six grandchildren, Ferrell Langley Taylor (Adam), James Scott Langley, Savannah Langley Huttenberger (Brent), Sean Hays Langley, Charles Baker Langley and Colby Shane Langley; her sister Mrs. Jane Dennis of Augusta, GA; brother Gaines Huguley and wife Austin Gilliland Huguley of Greenville, SC; Mark Huguley and wife Sally Saunders Huguley of Columbia, SC.

Tricia was born in Columbus, GA and spent her early years in Augusta, GA before moving to Greenville, SC. She attended Greenville High School and Sullins Junior College in Bristol, VA. She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and previously served on the Alter Guild and the Angel Pew committees as a volunteer for “Meals on Wheels” of Greenville, SC. She was a long time employee of Thornblade Country Club from inception through her years as the manager of the ProShop Tennis Center until her retirement.

Tricia expressed her love of life through her keen sense of humor, her Christian faith and often writing poetry. She was seldom without a novel and especially enjoyed good times with her special friends and family. She loved spring and summer and throughout her life was an avid swimmer, tennis player and water skier. She enjoyed her garden, especially her flowering gardenias and a full moon. Her grandchildren were her joy from the first moment she heard their newborn cries. Her most treasured moments were spent among her beloved sons and her daughters-in-law, who all became her friends. Tricia held a special place in the heart of her friends and family and will be missed dearly.

The service to celebrate her life will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday the 29th of March. Visitation to begin at 11:00 am with services following at 12:00 pm and concluding with the 1:00 pm graveside service. There will also be a reception to celebrate Tricia’s life at the Poinsett Club downtown Greenville after the graveside service.
