Paul Steven Otovic

Paul was born on February 20, 1957, at Hunt Memorial Hospital in Danvers to Nancy Kimball Kent and Robert Leonard Otovic, Sr. He grew up in Danvers and lived in Stuart and Okeechobee, Florida before settling in Greenville.

Paul will be remembered for his kindness, humor, dedication to family, love of animals, athletic accomplishments, and culinary skills. He touched the lives of many through his strength, laughter, energy, and love for all people.

Paul is survived by his wife Jana, daughter Jillian, and son, Heath. Also, nine siblings; Robert L. Otovic, Jr. (Nancy), Richard B. Otovic (Lisa), Peter N. Otovic (Nancy), Janet K. Otovic, Nancy E. Otovic, Brian K. Otovic (Richelle), Elizabeth J. Otovic, Margaret L. McLaughlin (John), and William J. Otovic, Sr. as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law, Jill.

Paul graduated from Danvers High School in 1975 and was a terrific student athlete. He earned all-conference honors in his senior year and was awarded an athletic scholarship to play football at Bridgewater State University. During his time in Florida, Paul was a USSSA umpire. Paul had a passion for food preparation and made his career out of leading and participating within a variety of epicurean establishments. Paul’s wife and children were the focus and loves of his life, and he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Paul was also a lover of all animals, and he cared for those that had become unwanted. Paul was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and was a friend to many. His humor was unique, his strength unwavering, and his zest for life unparalleled.

His memorial service will be held on August 6th, 2026, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609, beginning at 11am. Friends and family are also welcome to attend and share memories at his brother Brian’s home after the service from 2-5pm.
