Pauline Edwards Buck

Pauline Edwards Buck, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Pauline was born December 10th, 1935 in Florence, SC to Ernest Gary Edwards and Isabelle Workman Edwards. She was a graduate of Mullins High School and attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She married the love of her life Charles N. Buck and started her most important job - becoming a mother to her 3 children, Linda O’Brien, Charles "Chuck" Buck, Jr., and Scott Buck.

Pauline lived many places including Greenville, SC, Lancaster, PA, and Houston, TX but she felt most at home on the beaches of South Carolina. She was known by many as a dog lover, a beach walker, and a talented artist. “Leena” adored her children and six grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to travel or show any of her family the world - whether by plane, safari, boat or car. She enjoyed her supper club, tennis at Wild Dunes, playing bridge with friends, walking the beach with friends and their dogs, a great margarita, fine champagne, and lots of good chocolate.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Charles N. Buck, parents and siblings, and her beloved dog, Sandy, who was as well-known on the beaches of Wild Dunes as Pauline. Pauline is survived by her 3 children, Linda O’Brien (Scott), of San Antonio, TX, Charles “Chuck” Buck, Jr., of Greenville, SC, and Scott Buck (Elizabeth Williams) of Charleston, SC, along with grandchildren, Trey Buck, Lee Buck, Graham Williams, Josh O’Brien, Sean O’Brien and Jonathan O’Brien, her dog Snowflake, and her many loved grand-doggies.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Charleston, SC on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 4:00 - 6:00 in the Hotel Bennett, 404 King St, Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Palmetto Paws Animal Rescue, 1351 Roddington Street, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 or your local animal shelter.
