Peter Mayer Benjamin

Peter Mayer Benjamin passed away July 23, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Milton and Eleanor Benjamin, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1944. Graduated from UNC, Chapel Hill in 1966, made his career in the textile industry until his retirement. After retirement, he owned and managed several investment properties.

He loved the game of tennis and played USTA at the league level. He also enjoyed talking cars with anyone who was interested.

He is survived by his wife Jane of 45 years and his fraternal twin Brother, Gregory as well as his Boston terrier, Boss.

Peter will be greatly missed not only by his family, but also by his neighbors and friends. He was a kind and caring man.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Mackey at Century Drive Chapel, followed by private burial at Springwood Cemetery, Greenville, SC. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605 or Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd, Greenville, SC 29607.
