Mr. Strange served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1954, including active duty during WWII. He was very involved in the Taylors Fire Department, and served as one of the Taylors Water and Sewer Commissioners for many years. Mr. Strange was one of the co-founders and original owners of Strange Brothers Grading that was founded in 1954. After many years of service, he retired in 1989.
Pierce was a founding member of the Roger S. Strange Memorial Endowment for Christian Education. He was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on East North Street.
As a world traveler, Pierce and his wife visited every US state, walked the Great Wall of China, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, safaried in Africa, and made many wonderful memories traveling to every continent, with the exception of Antarctica. They enjoyed telling about their adventures and capturing these moments through photography. Pierce also had quite the green thumb and loved working in his yard alongside his friend, Ernest Paul.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rebecca Wilson Strange; an infant daughter; a son, Roger Steven Strange; and a brother, Clyde Nesbitt Strange.
Surviving are his brothers, Thomas Royce Strange, Sr. (Sara) and Ronald Gilbert Strange, Sr. (Betty); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations Century Drive, with visitation an hour before, from 1-2:00 PM. Entombment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive.
