Richard Holder, 77, husband of Ruby Poole Holder, passed away December 5, 2014. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Cuben and Clemis Powell Holder. Richard served our country in the US Army. He retired from Ashworth Brothers after 44 years of service. He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Kyle Rowan; two grandchildren, Shelly and Holder Rowan; three sisters, Margaret (Joe) Nash; Evelyn (Joe) Revis; and Pat (Kim) Phipps; and a brother Davis (Francis) Holder. He was preceded in death by his siblings Maxine Murr, Preston Holder, Douglas Holder and Mildred McBride. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 2:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 4:00 – 6:00pm at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601.
