Born to Richard and Joan Reifenheiser, Rich was raised in Ashburnham, Massachusetts where his happiest early memories were rooted in his loving family and lifelong friendships he developed there.
Rich was a graduate of the University of Lowell in Massachusetts, known today as UMass Lowell and moved to South Carolina to begin his career as a chemical engineer. Rich was a man who appreciated the simple joys in life and the people who made it meaningful. He loved working on cars, collecting treasured keepsakes, and spending time outdoors. Whether he was four-wheeling, biking, doing yard work, or relaxing by the firepit, Rich was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
He especially enjoyed showing off his cooking skills, proudly serving favorites like tacos and grilled cheese sandwiches. Rich had a wonderful sense of humor and found great joy in making people laugh. He loved family movie nights, sharing stories from years past, and creating memories filled with laughter and togetherness.
Above all, Rich deeply loved his family. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, Sherri, and his children, Lauren and Sam. His love, humor, and presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon “Sherri” Lewis Reifenheiser; his daughter, Lauren Frances Reifenheiser; his son, Richard "Sam" Reifenheiser; and his sister, Jeanne Reiley.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Joan Reifenheiser, and his sister, Laura Parnell.
A celebration of Rich's life will be held on Friday, June 26th at 4pm at 111 Cooper Drive, Simpsonville, South Carolina, 29681. A celebration will also take place in New Jersey on June 22nd, details are pending and will be updated once available.
