IN THE CARE OF

Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park

Robert "Bob" Olson passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 82.

Born on September 4, 1943 in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Catherine A. Marra and Paul R. Olson.

Bob was described by those who knew him as a kind, thoughtful, and caring man. He was always looking to help others anyway he could, and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He also had a great sense of humor and was known to play pranks. Always cheerful, Bob truly lifted the spirits of those around him.

Bob was a dedicated veteran who served four years in the Marines, followed by twenty years in the Army Reserves.

While working in Rome, Italy, Bob met his beloved wife Dora. The two got married in 1966 and spent fifty-nine years together. Thirty of those years were spent in Vienna, Virginia before the couple moved to Taylors, South Carolina in 2006.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by an infant sister, his brothers Raymond, Bruce, and Richard, as well as his daughter, Catherine Olson.

He is survived by his wife Dora, his youngest brother, Paul Olson of Springfield, Massachusetts, as well as his niece, Christine Clauson of Nashua, New Hampshire.

Bob will be laid to rest in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina. Service details will be announced once set.
