Robert Victor Shaw

Born in Piedmont, S.C., he was the son of the late Claude M. and Cora Shirley Shaw.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Shaw served in the Eighth Air Force of the US Army in World War II, completing 25 missions in the Allied Air campaign in Europe. He was a charter member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church where he served in numerous leadership positions over the years. He was retired from Carolina Steel Corporation.

Mr. Shaw is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. James R. and Anne Shaw of Brevard, NC, and Dr. Charles S. and Billie Shaw of Greenville; his grandchildren, Stewart A. Shaw and wife, Alyssa, William S. Shaw and wife, Sarah, and Hannah Ruth Shaw. In addition, he is survived by three great-grandchildren, Jude, Naomi, and Esther Shaw.

Mr. Shaw was predeceased by his daughter, Janet Lee Shaw.

Funeral services will held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11am in the chapel of The Mackey Mortuary.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be private.
