He was the son of Eloise H. Edwards and the late Cecil C. Edwards. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Edwards and David Edwards (Bri); three granddaughters, Lucy, Nora, and Brinley; his sister, Jenell Kilpatrick (Ron); and many nieces and nephews.
Rodney was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church where he was active in his Community Group, Life Group, and as an usher. He was a Home Builder in the Greenville area for over 40 years, having started Edwards Builders Inc in 1980 with his father. He enjoyed his work and took great pleasure in the relationships he built through this over the years.
His greatest joy was his family, and he was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather (“Papa”). He was an avid boater and loved taking family and friends to the lake for a day or weekend, providing many wonderful memories. He was a casual golfer, but preferred to watch the Pros do the work. Camping and backpacking with his sons and friends was another of his interests, as well as scuba diving in his younger years. In his family, he was well known for grilling ribs and chicken for our large family gatherings.
