Roger Harris Phillips

Born in Eutaville, he was the son of Rita Cohen Phillips and the late Thomas Alexander Phillips. He graduated from Clemson University in 1964 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering.

Roger retired from Fluor in 2010, working in the Engineering industry for 42 years. A well respected professional, he received his Professional Engineering License and was a certified PE in many states. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that showed his passion for his craft.

He was a faithful, dedicated member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church since 1971.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Sexton Phillips; his son, Tom Phillips and his wife April; and daughter, Sharon Phillips Gilstrap and her husband Thomas. He was a devoted granddaddy to Madison, Will, Harris, Jake and Luke. Also surviving is his brother Jerry Phillips, of Goose Creek. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister Linda Rheuark, of Kinston, NC.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 3:00pm at Aldersgate UMC. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:30 – 2:45pm at the church.
