Dear Brooks family,  Ron was a great influence on my life as a BJU college student at Southside in the 70s.  He was a hero of mine.  I was also blessed to know your children and thank you all who served our country..

Barbara, I am so sorry I didn't here about Ron until yesterday the 21st. What a wonderful man God made him to be. Always giving the presence of Christ in even his casual talk and way. Mrs. Brooks,  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Dr. Brooks was a friend and mentor to our family and I am blessed to have been in ministry along side him.

Barbara, What a shock to learn that Ron was gone. Joe wanted to come to the visitation but we didn't find out in time to come. He wasn't up to coming to the funeral; however, I couldn't miss it. I wanted to be part of the celebration of his life. He actually lived 4 lifetimes in one life. Who could fill those shoes? Amazing life. Such an inspiration to us both. Prayer for you as you navigate life without him.

Major Brooks was a "major force" at The Wilds, and in the lives of so many young people.  We also vividly remember his presentation regarding his co-pilot Sandy to whom Major Brooks witnessed, but who was shot while sitting beside him and died without Christ.   The whole Brooks family is in our hearts and we appreciate all of you.  Our sincere condolences at the loss of your husband & father, who was also such a blessing to the rest of us. Dear Barbara and family, Neil and I are praying for you during this difficult time. It's wonderful to see through comments in various places, of all the things God allow him to do in helping point others to his Lord. I remember Maj Brooks spoke to our church youth group at the Wilds Christian camp when I was in high school. His example of surrender to the Lord convicted me of my own plans for the future. Later in life he became the interm pastor of our church and met so many needs of our church family. I know there was a great crowd waiting to thank him in heaven for his faithful service. Thank you Lord for your servant, Ron Brooks.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. My husband and I were both saved under the preaching of Major Brooks. He has always had a dear place in our hearts.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Brooks.  He touched so many lives during his ministry.  We are praying for your dear family during this time.

In March of 2004, Major Brooks spoke in chapel at Bob Jones University. I remember very clearly his message and wrote a quote from that message in the margin of my Bible, "Nothing can touch me unless it is first filtered through the hand of a loving God." Later that week, my father had a brain aneurysm and I returned home to help make the decision to take him off life support. I remember holding on to scripture and rereading that quote in my Bible so many times. Since then, my life has had many ups and downs, blessings and trials. I have often reflected on that message and the way the Lord specifically used Major Brooks and that message to prepare me for such a difficult time. Prayers for the Comforter to be especially close to his family at this time.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

Many years ago in 1974 Maj Brooks made an impact on my life for the Lord that is clear and evident even today. He was truly a mentor. I am praying for his lovely wife and children as they move on temporarily without his presence. May God richly bless.

Bro. Brooks and Mrs. Brooks are special people to us which goes back to the early 1970s at Southside Baptist Church. We were so blessed to know him. He had a great influence on our lives. He was a godly, gracious man who will truly be missed. May God bless his wife and family during this time.

Forty-two years ago, Major Brooks, Barbara, and their family graciously opened their home to me enabling me to attend Southside Christian School my senior year. Major Brooks was a very Godly, compassionate, caring man. His personal testimony, his messages and his teaching made a tremendous impact on my life.

Ron and Barbara have been our good friends for over 30 years.  Ron was a spiritual example to the "kids" he ministered to, both at Southside Baptist Christian School and The Wilds Christian Camp.

Under the preaching of Dr. Brooks, November 26, 1995 in our home church's missions conference, I surrendered to serve as a missionary in Cambodia. I thank the Lord for this man of God and for his great testimony. His preaching was always a challenge each time we were in missions conferences together. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Brook and their family during this time.

Ron Brooks was a gracious, Christian gentleman.  His kindness to me throughout our years of association through Baptist World Mission and as he preached in our church has always warmed my heart.  No doubt my wife and I are better believers because of Ron Brooks.
