Sandra Monson

Sandra Lockwood Monson went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 17, 2022, at the age of 77. She died, at home, surrounded by her loving family following declining health the past several years.

Sandra was born in Sioux City, IA, in 1944, to parents Dr. G. Roy and Fern Lockwood. She accepted Christ, as her Savior, at the age of six. Her early years were involved with church activities and Youth for Christ, a worldwide Christian movement evangelizing youth. She graduated from East High School and participated in drama, choir and cheerleading.

After graduating from Bob Jones University, in 1966, with a degree in Business Administration, she married her husband, Gregg Monson. Together they were married 55 years. She and Gregg attended Heritage Bible Church. Sandra taught over 30 years at Bob Jones University and Greenville Technical College. She loved teaching and her students.

She is survived by her husband, Gregg Monson and two sons, Stephen (Jackie) Monson of Greenville, SC and Jon (Erika) Monson of Hoover, AL, four grandchildren (Sam, Blake, Megan, Luke), three sisters; Connie Campbell of Greenville, SC, Sharon Reesor of Darien, CT, and Marcia Bean of Bonita Springs, FL. Her parents and brother, Steve, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends in the chapel at Taylors First Baptist Church, Taylors, SC from 11:00 am to 11:45 am Saturday December 3, 2022. Funeral Services will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Dr. Larry Reesor (brother-in-law) officiating.
