Sandy is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sondra Bare; his step-sons Billy Carey; Wesley Carey; Aaron Carey (Scarlett); and Austin Carey (Felicia); his mother Mary Stewart; his brother Matthew Bare; his granddaughters Audrey Carey and Amelia Carey and his grandson Matthias Carey. Sandy is also survived by his four nieces and a large extended family.
Sandy was preceded in death by his father LCpl Robert Lewis Bare, USMC.
Sandy obtained certifications in CPO, CAMT and HVAC and used those daily as a maintenance supervisor for Park West Apartments in Easley, SC. Sandy had a love for playing guitar and working with his hands. He was very proud of his NC mountain heritage. He was also extremely proud of all Veteran's and their service; especially the USMC.
Sandy loved watching basketball and had a deep love for his Tarheels!
A visitation for Sandy will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
