Sarah M. Rice, age 83, passed away at her home on November 30, 2013 from congestive heart failure. Born on June 27, 1930, she was married to her loving and devoted husband, Kenneth Q. Rice for over 65 years. She was a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Steve Rice and wife, Beth, of Travelers Rest, SC and Darrell Rice and wife, Gayle, of Salem, SC. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Kimberly Rush and husband, Curtis, and Karyn French and husband, Jeff. In addition, she was blessed to have three great grandchildren, Thomas and Betsy Rush and Jacob French. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ard and Ola Moore and four brothers. Surviving is a sister, Mary Kerns of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 3:30 PM with visitation prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:30 PM. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Interim HealthCare Hospice for their staff's excellent care. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association , Meals on Wheels, or Hampton Park Baptist Church.
